GREEN-SOIL Bio-fertilizer What is Green-Soil? Green-Soil is a bio-fertilizer prepared from solid fermentation of an eco-friendly, plant growth promoting beneficial fungiTrichodermaharzianumstrain G8. Why use Green-Soil? Under suitable environmental conditions,soil application of the Green-Soil willincrease root hairs and deep roots and thereby enhances the absorptive surface area of the colonized roots. Plants with bigger and deeper root systems are better able to resist drought. It also increases plant height, stem diameter, leaf area and chlorophyll contentsof the leaves. Once in soil the Trichodermaharzianumstrain G8 use the organic matter in its vicinity as a food source and continue to grow further for a period of time. This beneficial fungus establishes itself in close association with plant roots and the surrounding soil. In this process of growth and establishment the Trichodermaharzianumstrain G8 accelerate the decay of organic matter, solubilize insoluble mineralsand other tightly bound nutrients; capture nutrients such as phosphorus, iron,magnesium, manganese, and is supplied to plants. A large volume of fungal biomass is formed which store valuable macro and micro-nutrients in form that is readily available to plants and is safe from leaching. Trichodermaharzianumstrain G8 is parasitize plant pathogenic fungi such as Rhizoctoniasolani, Scleretoniasclerotii,sclerotiumrolfsii, Fusariumspp., Phythiumspp., etc., thus reducing their initial population in soil. Trichodermaharzianumstrain G8 also induces systemic resistance in plants to biotic stress such as diseases and abiotic stress such as water, salt and temperature. How to use Green-Soil? Green-Soil can be applied using one of several methods. The easiest way is to mix 350 g of the product in 100 liter of water and spray it to one acre. Constant shaking or stirring is needed. Also, make sure the spray is directed towards the soil. Alternatively, thoroughly mix 350 g of the product in 50 kg wet sand and broadcast it uniformly to one acre area. Best results are obtained when Green-Soil is applied before rain or is watered afterwards to wash the fungi closer to the root zone. Green-Soil can also be applied through drip irrigation or transplanting water (not mixed with chemical fertilizer or pesticide). Best time for first application is when seedlings have emerged and green photosynthetic leaves have formed. However, Green-Soil can be applied at any time during the growing season. Repeat application every 30 days if needed. Green-Soil is organic, non-pollutant and is safe to use. Green-soil contains living fungi and should not be mixed with fungicides and chemical fertilizer. Green-soil is not plant food. Potato grown in sandy soil amended with GreenSoil (Left) has 75% more growth than potato grown without GreenSoil (right). Why add beneficial fungi to soil? Beneficial fungi are part of every fertile soil. However, common agricultural activities such as tillage, fertilization, fumigation, pesticide, top soil erosion, etc. drastically reduces the number of beneficial fungi. On the other hand strains of beneficial fungi vary in their efficacy and certain farms may not have the most efficient strains. Adding the right strain (s) at the right time can significantly increase investment return. Trichoderma strains in the Green-Soil has been tested and found to promote root and top growth.
